Move work between tools 2 min read

Continue a Claude project in ChatGPT

Move the latest checked draft, its constraints, and the question you want ChatGPT to answer. A concise manual brief works without a memory connection. A Dray handoff also requires a captured source and a connected destination.

Identify the version you mean

A long writing chat can contain several drafts that all sound final. Before switching, label the one you want reviewed. Include the feedback that changed it, especially any claims you removed or language you were asked not to use.

If the work depends on an attachment, confirm that the destination can access the intended file. A sentence saying “see the file” does not transfer that file. Supply an approved copy or explain that the review must wait.

Ask for a bounded second pass

Give ChatGPT a job that complements the work already done. For a draft, that could mean checking factual claims and unclear sentences while leaving the structure alone. For an analysis, ask it to challenge one assumption rather than start again from scratch.

If you connect ChatGPT to Dray, follow the current setup guide and read the Developer mode warning. Do not enable a broad permission simply because a handoff prompt mentions it. The manual-brief route remains an option when a connector is unavailable.

TAKE THIS WITH YOU

A review request that preserves the draft

An illustrative template. Replace the details with material you are allowed to share.

This is the current draft from Claude, reviewed by me. Keep its structure. Check only the factual claims and unclear sentences. Use the attached approved sources where available. List anything you cannot verify. Do not restore the claims listed under “removed during review.”

USING THIS WITH DRAY

Keep the context. Check the source.

Dray opens a supported destination with a handoff request for you to review. Sending can expose the source conversation and stored files to the target provider.

Dray is in beta. Available sources and connections depend on your setup. Read the data notes before granting access.
