Move project context from ChatGPT to Claude

Start by preserving the current decisions and next task from the ChatGPT conversation. You can paste a checked brief into Claude, or use a supported Dray handoff after the source has been captured and synced.

Decide whether Claude needs the whole conversation

If you want a second opinion on one paragraph, a short excerpt and the writing brief may be enough. If you want Claude to examine how a decision was reached, it may need the original exchange. Choose the scope before you move anything.

In the source chat, ask for a brief that separates confirmed decisions from discarded ideas. Check it yourself. Pay particular attention to numbers, names, and constraints that were revised near the end of the conversation.

Give the new chat a task, not just background

A pasted summary often invites another summary. Add a specific request: critique the draft, check an assumption, or continue a named step. Ask Claude to identify missing information before it starts.

For a Dray handoff, use “Ask another assistant” only when the destination is available and connected. Wait for source sync, review the prepared prompt, and press Send yourself. The target may read the whole chat and stored files, not only the message where you started.

USING THIS WITH DRAY

Keep the context. Check the source.

Dray’s web handoff prepares a request to read a captured source. It does not merge your ChatGPT and Claude accounts or promise that their native memory features are synchronized.

Dray is in beta. Available sources and connections depend on your setup. Read the data notes before granting access.
