Fix an outdated fact in AI memory
Find the old fact and its source, write an explicit correction with a date and scope, and use the product’s available controls to update or remove the stale record. Then test a fresh retrieval.
Say what the correction replaces
“November works” is ambiguous if an earlier chat said October. “The launch date is now 12 November; this replaces the October target” is much easier to interpret. Name the project so the correction does not spread to unrelated work.
Check whether the old statement was ever a confirmed fact. Sometimes the problem is an idea being stored or summarized as a decision. In that case, correct the status as well as the value.
Test outside the correction chat
The current chat already contains your correction, so a correct answer there does not prove stored memory changed. Use a fresh request in a connected assistant and ask for the supporting source.
If both versions appear, inspect their dates and scope. Preserve the old source when it explains a past action, but avoid presenting it as the current instruction. If you cannot resolve a record through the available controls, contact support with a narrow description rather than sending your full archive.
